I've been trying to figure out why the DNS server is even going to the root hints. We use OpenDNS to resolve DNS. Any traffic to any non-OpenDNS IP on port 53 is blocked at the firewall. WebIt's unfortunate that google's automated response only directs people to create a reverse DNS entry, which for many people is something that is outside their control and they are at the mercy of their ISP. It seems that by adding the above information, it supersedes the need for the reverse DNS as the domain is authenticated in other ways.
