Lexan needs more heat than most plastics, needs to be pre-dried, it chills quicker than others, and doesn't get as soft and squishy when hot. Its just plain harder to vacuum form. Here's a quick Lexan forming tutorial:-- Use really new fresh sheets, or pre-dry at 200-225 for an hour to a day depending on sogginess factor.

Originally for the windshield, I think the Speedster used eighth inch, but it was unsuccessful because of the curvature around the wing root.
