WebSo, I sent my husband over there because I thought this was granny’s tamales (like the one in Humble). Oh well, we decided to give them a try. I would rate them a solid 3.5. Their masa has good flavor, not too thick, however a few of them were very dry. Their salsa was very good! Pork tamales were my favorite, didn’t care for the chicken. Web3. I think you're probably either making the masa dough too wet to begin with or you're not steaming them long enough. They should steam until the tamale easily peels away from the husk. The wetter your masa dough is, the longer the tamales will need to steam. Share.
