WebOct 9, 2015 · The yellow cake tends to be too thick and soggy, and the chocolate cake has a bland flavor. The frostings tend to be too sweet. The carrot cake is very mediocre and doesn't have nuts or raisins. The cake overall at Haisch's is no better than supermarket quality, so I only go to this bakery when I want something like donuts or Rugelach. WebLousy Bakery. Don't believe the hype on Yelp. For some reason Yelp doesn't recommend the negative reviews for this bakery, and mostly just publishes the positive ones. My experience at this bakery hasn't been good. The cake is dreadful. Way too heavy and wet. Loaded with oil. The turnovers aren't flaky at all, and the fillings are too sweet.
