Web1 jan. 2024 · Jewish Museum. For centuries, Prague was home to one of Europe's oldest and largest Jewish communities. In the 18th century, Jewish people made up 25% of the city's population. However, the community suffered from several waves of persecution, including the Holocaust which almost destroyed it. WebJewish Museum in Prague have recently been covered in detail by my colleague Magda Veselská, who specializes in the history of our institution and its prominent personages and who describes the fate of its collection of Torah scrolls. Above all, it should be pointed out that the Jewish Museum in Prague was not created by the Nazis.
