WebJun 8, 2015 · The Tour 450/700 were the replacements in the bass lineup. Wood sleeve heads had fallen out of favor, and there was a push for lighter weight. We started working on these around 2005, right before Hurricane Katrina. The feature set of the Tour's was defined by Dave Ellefson of Megadeth, who was head of Peavey artist relations at the time. WebAug 10, 2011 · I used a 700 watt Peavey Firebass into 2 Peavey 810 TVX cabs for years. The only trouble I had with the gear was the handle coming out of the head after a few years. And that was done by my idiot guitar player during a load out. I also scraped the hell out of the tolex on the cabs. Totally my fault though.

WebJan 17, 2009 · The 700 is the big brother of the Tour 450. If you have the extra money I would go with the 700, but the 450 is a good buy as well. As some one said, the cabinet is heavy. About 100 lbs. It is also indestructible, both physically and power wise. WebApr 8, 2007 · I have to say the firebass does very well. It feels like it should have twenty tubes in it, but my only complaint (besides weight) is I think they were optimistic when they said 700wrms. I run a 2x10 and 1x15 (both 4ohm so I get the full watts) and yeah it's loud, but it doesn't seem like it is loud in the right spots.
